Januarie Hall is a Fraud Mitigation Manager in London and has been one of the of the most committed Citizen Science Leaders since the project began in 2012.
Her outstanding work in collecting samples, recruiting other Citizen Science Leaders and spreading the word about FreshWater Watch was recognised when she was crowned Citizen Science Leader of the Year.
Januarie said: “Something moves me in my soul to be involved with environmental projects, it’s the moral aspect of things, we are stewards of this planet and have a responsibility to do what we can.
"It’s important to me to work for a company that is involved in this kind of work so as a response I feel I should do my best to be part of what the bank is doing. It’s completely different to my role in fraud so gives me a great balance to my working day. I love organising things, motivating people, writing and being creative and my role as a CSL enables me to indulge myself in this.
“I also knew that I had to improve at work by increasing my confidence in giving presentations. My involvement with the HSBC Water Programme has forced me to do that and has really brought major benefits to my professional development.”
